I always just figured it would make her green skin darker.
Plus, she’s a West Coast girl. Laying out in the sun is just part of who she is.

Like so much of She-Hulk's appeal, the sunbathing is fun. The same with the floppy hat, the sunbathing is also a piece of every day verisimilitude that has the amusing juxtaposition of it being an enormous green lady doing the sunbathing in the floppy hat. That is funny and fun. No more, no less.
