Just remembered, when you asked that question long ago,
IF I went back to Marvel, who should I work on?, or
something like that, I picked Imperial Guard ... glad to
see they at least make an appearance.

(Does anyone have a link to that? For I can't do a
proper search worth a damn or something)

Re: The second horizontal panel showing Gladiator tossing the wreckage
aside… JB, will you please tell the speedlines story again?

If we consider Gladiator a superhero… Is he the most powerful one in Marvel's
universe? (And I don't want to hear a word about that Sentry guy. He
still doesn't feel like a real character to me.)

LOVE that page!

Gladiator and Manta are a thing! I don't recall any hint of that... what a fun reveal :)

We always talk about the marvelous (no pun intended - ok maybe a little) artwork but you have also stepped up your game with regard to panel layout design as well.

Frank Miller walked into the bullpen to find an inker troubling over one of my pages. “Byrne has drawn speedlines on this shadow.”

“So?”

“Shadows don’t have speedlines”

Frank waved his hand back and forth in front of the guy’s face. “Nothing has speedlines!!”

(Altho, that’s a silhouette of Gladiator, not a shadow!)

Manta was my character, and Chris f**ked her up. I decided to take this opportunity to ease my pain by killing her—poignantly.

Do you think a sitcom in that setting would work?
Wonder who the main cast would be?

Jim Croche once wrote about things you shouldn't do, like tug on Superman's
cape.

I get the feeling he could have added: "You don't mess up Gladiator's hair."
Don't know what Gladiator will do next, but it probably won't be pretty.

That is amazing! John, you are the man! Not the "Stick it to the man"-man but "THE" man-man!

I thought the joy I had felt in comics was gone. I'd grown out of it but looking at this thread draws it all back out.

Thank you.
