I wonder how these would look if they were
just colored and not inked at all? These
pencils are so lovely that it seems harsh to
ink over them.

Colored pencils just never seem to work for me. The dark blacks are missing. And if the scans are darkened to compensate, too often they end up looking like xeroxes.

Someone should send this illustration of The Thing to some current artists at Marvel. In my mind, John Byrne's Thing will always be the way I see him. Same with Galactus. I just recently got another copy of Marvel Two-In-One #50 and, man, that's a great comic.
