Today I officially experienced my most disappointing comic con ever at CincyCon 2016. Here is the lone piece of art I came home with, a Bat-Mite doodle in my WORLD'S FUNNEST trade by the always great Evan Dorkin:

To help my not dwell on the disappointment that was today's con, I have a newly arrived commission from Don Simpson to share:

I just recently read Simpson's KING KONG adaptation from the early 90s and loved it! I had to contact him for a commission and he delivered big time!

Baltimore was good to me. I picked up several pages, as well as finished off a jam piece I had been working on. I am largely done with these, because it is too much work to figure out who to have do what and then run around trying to get on a list at the cons. No wonder most editors don't want to do their jobs anymore.
This FF piece was started with Paul Pelletier laying out the Thing. Jose Prado inked it for me and then.... it sat. Over the last year, I was happy when the following agreed to do their take on a character.
Tom Raney drew Mr. Fantastic. Stephane Roux did a great, classic Invisible Woman. Buzz just did the Human torch last week.

What would a con be, without picking up a piece from Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez? Jose sets it up and Frank Mclaughlin inks it!

Joe Giella was at the con and being recognized for over 60 years in the business. The guy is 88 and only retired from the Mary Worth newspaper strip last month! Great to meet him and his wife as well as be able to buy this page from him, with his inks over Garcia-Lopez.

I was also able to grab more pages from one of my favorite artists! Don't know that it is evident, but I truly am showing restraint, in not having significantly more work from him. More beautiful pages from his Hulk run..
Awesome Dr. Doom....
Nice character interaction pages...

... and another page from my favorite issue of his run...
Again struck by the Byrne and Davis influences in these pages. Just so much damn fun and not a word balloon needed.
