I recently had a little windfall and decided to use some of it to buy some Modesty Blaise originals. I decided to get one from each of the five artists that drew the daily strip.
The Holdaway and Burns pieces are currently in transit from a dealer in the US but I collected these from The Book Palace in South London today.
By Enric Romero from "Milord".
This is from one of my favourite stories and I liked that it features Willie in action with the nice close-up of Modesty. This is from Romero's second stint on the strip and I'd still like to get one from his first run.
By Neville Colvin from "The Scarlet Maiden".
This is another of my favourite stories and as I'm also a diver I had to have this one. (I'm sure I'll be boasting about it on my Art of Diving blog very soon!)
By Neville Colvin from "Sweet Caroline".
As the first Colvin piece doesn't show our heroes' faces I decided the only thing to do was buy this lovely example as well!
By Patrick Wright from "Brethren of Blaise".
Patrick Wright is probably my least-favourite of the artists but this one also features diving and the price was right so...
Before I set off to the Book Palace I made the mistake of looking around their website again and ended up buying this beautiful Carol Day strip by Patrick's father, David Wright.
