Stephane Garrelie: But the first Michelinie/Layton run with too John Romita Jr and Jerry Bingham and John Byrne (for one issue) as artists, top it all.

You won't get any argument from me on that one.

Stephane Garrelie: Roger, Advanced Iron is one of my favorite comics site on the net. Thanks.

I haven't had much to do with the site/fanzine since I stepped down as Editor-In-Chief about four years ago, but on behalf of the guys that are running the show these days, You're welcome!

Writers don't necessarily need to know the facts and facets of each character, I've always assumed that should fall to the EDITOR -- and the Editor should also be the one with the judgment of what to allow and what to allow to pass by the wayside of the characters history, whatever suits the continued prospering of the property.  It's simply sad that NOW too many editors lack both the knowledge and judgment and take a Wikipedia approach of letting Whoever do Whatever they want, right or wrong, for better or worse, and then someone later can slather more nonsense to contradict it later.

Ok I've posted on the Wikipedia Byrne Talk a link to the actual thread of the Alba/hispanic hooker case. with my comment "Make your own opinion. I hold on my own that it's a joke+the esthetic judgement of an artist and not a racist attack against a minority or even the beautiful Jessica Alba. The joke is page 1 post#4, for a most serious approch of what Byrne think see his many posts p.9"

Maybe these way readers and posters will make their opinion on actual fact and not on the opinion of a third.

It speaks volumes, I think, that another poster, quite independently, made the same blonde/hooker comment a week or so later, and generated not so much as a ripple. The Crusaders were snoozing that day, I guess,

Meanwhile, under the heading of "How Determinded are These People Not to Get It?" the Wikipedia entry for yours truly now contains this message:

"This page has been protected from editing to deal with vandalism. Please discuss any proposed changes on the talk page or request unprotection if it is no longer necessary."

...followed almost immediately by...

"The neutrality and factual accuracy of this article are disputed. Please see the relevant discussion on the talk page."

At present, the article is completely neutral and contains only facts --- facts which, by virtue of the first message, are presented as suspect.

sigh
