Abrams books are distributed in Australia. Amusing to think of that, given that the first half-tab comicbook I bought was an Australian reprint. Full circle!

...as some future titan of a cartoonist is introduced to the artform by Elsewhen. Amazing.

My childhood buddy informed me on Thursday that he finally received the copy that he ordered on launch day, third printing.
I've been reading online that the demand for the subsequent printings were a surprise, and Abhrams resorted to having some of them printed in the USA instead of China to keep up (it will say which on the jacket). So theoretically the US-printed ones might be considered to be worth more.

As I type this, my copy is less than a foot and a half away.

I received my copy Saturday. Beautiful!
Will there be signed editions of books 2 & 3?

Not planned. We’ll see how persuasive Abrams can be!

Annoying to see retailers/shops playing the usual games. Different prices for different printings, etc. sigh

I was finally able to pick up a copy at the local Barnes & Noble when it was back in stock last week. Third printing, printed and bound in the U.S.A.

Books (and other products) are produced in China because it’s cheaper. Demand for ELSEWHEN must be continuing to run high if Abrams is falling back on American printers to meet it. (I am reminded of a few decades back, when I was heavily into collecting die-cast model cars from the Franklin Mint. Their customer service department at one point called to ask if I had any problem with the cars being manufactured in China. I said no.)

Additional story: During my divorce I ran seriously low on cash, forcing me to cut way back on my fun spending. After a few months without any orders from me, someone from the Franklin Mint called to see if I was okay. Now that’s customer service!
