There are several phrases ennui-engorged fanboys have picked up—usually without comprehension—that they think make them seem clever. “Hasn’t age well” is one such.

I loved this graphic novel. Still do.
It does everything one of those should do.
Plays on a wide wide stage, big threat, changes something (but not
forever).
And the art is beautiful.

What’s not to like?
And yes, compared to modern comics? Give me a break.

The phrase "Hasn't aged well" is turning into a growing pet peeve ... seems some people can't read or watch things in their proper context.

What on earth do they mean by "aging well"?

I've been reading about the first appearances of
important characters in superhero history, and by the
standards of these whiners, none of them should have
survived. Far from offending or distressing me, I find it
fascinating to discover a portrait of the morality and
boundaries of other eras. It's surprising to find, for
example, how easily a hero could solve a problem by
taking the villain's life (the funny thing is how today's
"fans," who are horrified by past transgressions, instead
of demanding that Aunt May go on a Bahamas cruise, demand
that she die); it's also a little sad to see characters
like the Spectre fighting petty demons.

Sigh

I miss the good old days.

I think context is important. My wife recently tried reading some 40+ year old books written by a writer who had inspired both Katherine Rundell, her favourite writer, and Terry Pratchett, mine. And my wife had to quit the book because, in her words, the writer was "a writer of her time" - meaning, subtle and not-so-subtle racism ingrained into the story.

Sometimes a writer might be presenting a character who was a reprehensible racist. That's different. The context is important. And if there's anything I've learned about people in the modern age, it's that most have no grasp of context.

As I have said, the internet is where context goes to die.

I have been called a racist for using “the N-word” in the context that it’s a BAD WORD.. But that context doesn’t matter. My sin is using the word.

SHE-HULK was the best in the whole Graphic Novel series that Marvel had.
