Comics are often called a visual medium, yet there seem so many readers who make only the most superficial appraisal of the visual elements. Who will seize upon minor details—in this case that I drew a woman with wavy hair—and will push on those details until they have a hill they are prepared to die on.

I am far from the only artist who’s been subjected to this.
