Hey guys, looking for some crits here. Just sent off this as an assignment for Joe Kubert's correspondence course. Just looking to expand my range beyond funny animals, one inch at a time as the day job allows.
Can't help being a goof - yes, that's supposed to be a coconut helmet, and yes I know it's a terrible overuse of the silent 'P'. I also know that this drawing is full of problems, but there are so many I can have a hard time anticipating them all. Any help?
PS - these were taken with a camera but I think there's enough of it there to give you an idea of what I was looking for.
The Assignment: - Draw within any style you feel comfortable.
- This comic book page must feature dinosaurs.
- A caveman is on the back of a pterodactyl in flight.
- A cavewoman has just fallen off and is plunging towards earth.
- Allow space for a title and promo copy.
NOTE FROM ME - I purposely drew in a style in which I did NOT feel comfortable in an attempt to expand range. Title & promo copy wasn't asked for, but I made some up to see if it worked. without copy:

with copy:

Thanks for all the input in advance! If this is the wrong thread or forum for this, I can always take this post down.
Paulo - what do i use to ink? Skully Tophat was a brushpen - Pentel pocketbrush, it's great. Nowadays, I'm using Photoshop almost 100% (my Summer Challenge '08 was Pshop). This Kubert homework was all pencil on bristol, tho - came with the course!
Darren - thanks man I dig your stuff too. That girl drawing was great!
Mikael - Whatever happened to 'Dragonslayers'? Looks like it pre-dated MIB! I like your pages from when you were 14. Makes me feel lazy - at 14 I certainly wasn't doing anything that ambitious.
JPB - Loving the Spider-Man! You've got a great approach to figures...
EDIT - Revisions underway. Thanks! (end of thread)....

Thanks for the answer, Warren.
Regarding your drawing, I don't see a lot wrong with it. Overall, I would sharpen the details of the underside and digits of the pterosaur a bit more. As a possible nitpick, I'd question the "falling lines" of the girl. I don't think that should be a blank space but rather white speed lines. Also, perhaps another nitpick, it looks more like the girl jumped off the pterosaur rather than fell off (which might be the case, for all I know); I think it would look more natural if she were falling head first. My last comment (nitpick) would be to question why the pterosaur on the right is a different species. I think the drawing would maybe flow better if that animal was similar to the one in the foreground.
