I never thought an inker could make JB's pencils look so not-JB until I saw those Rudy Nebres inked pages, yuck!

I agree with you (and especially cause it's costed me 40 bucks to get it...second hand issues for compulsive collectors can be hard).

Thanks Franck too.

Well, I've know all JB complete stories/issues (but Death' Head Night), does somebody have the 3 JB pages from Uncanny X-Men 273 "Too many mutants" ?

JB's three pages from Uncanny X-Men #273 inked by Scott Williams.

Nice large panels! I don't remember about the other pages in
that issue but recognising Byrne under Jim Lee's regular inker
was a great treat - from a fan of both artists. Like I said.. nice
large panels.

Yeah, I was really impressed with William's inks over JB in that issue. I
wish they'd work together again one day!

Nice large panels!

**********

Story behind that. I got a call asking if I would be up
for contributing 3 pages to the book. I said sure, and
a couple of days later a "plot" arrived. What didn't
come with the plot was the information that the
editors had decided they only needed ONE page
from me -- so I took what they sent me and stretched
it out to 3 pages.

It ended up looking like most of what we would later
come to think of as Image-style artwork, so I sent it in
without another thought -- until I got a somewhat
panicked call from the editor!

I thought that was a hell of a good issue of X-Men, artwise that is!

I still can't get over how the Dark Asylum story looks.I only see one
panel that I can identify as being your work.

Looking back over your career it amazes me how many different
inkers you have worked with.
I wonder if you hold the record?
