Got this for Christmas and just dropped it off to be framed. Not original art, but a high quality R. Crumb print:

This was used as an album cover.

Joe:
In the immortal words of Les Nessman: "If the Beatles are the construct of modern music--and I use that word "construct" incorrectly--surely they were given birth to by Elvis Presley. A giant for sure, but the product of the black experience. Ergo--and I use that word correctly--blacks created modern music! Scratch an Allman Brother, and you have black. Scratch Billy Jo-ell, and you have Howling Wolf! I could go on, but my mother is in town. Let's just say that every white rock and roll musician working today should take half of his or her paycheck and mail it directly to Chuck Berry. At least that's what I think. And I won't even go into jazz. Arnold, enjoy your visit to the station. Venus, nice visiting with you too! "
Cool cover.

I've uploaded a lot of art, for me at least. I won't post everything but I will share a few personal favorites. You can see the rest over at my CAF.
First one is by our host - John Byrne

El Diablo #3 by Tim Sale. I liked the design of the covers Tim did for this series.

Last two are by Don Newton
The cover to RBCC #108 featuring The PHANTOM

Captain Marvel. I've always wanted just one great piece depicting Don's Captain Marvel. I found it with this.

I've been into "birthdate" commissions - getting an artist part of a book with cover date October 1977 revisit/reinterpret/reimagine that work today with over 35 years experience. Two years ago, JB did MTU62 (he was the original interior artist but did not do the cover):
Last year, JB reimagined Super Villain Team Up 14 where he was original cover artist:
Now for a change, I got Mike Grell - original cover and interior artist of Green Lantern Green Arrow 97 - to revisit his work 37 years later. Just got this to start the new year:
Now I am thinking what more I can have commissioned. JB still has one more book with that cover date - he did the interiors to Avengers 164 (original cover by George Perez), but the cover characters don't really interest me except for Captain America so I'm not sure I'd go down that route. Grell also did Superboy 232 but it doesn't seem to be a great cover. Choices for my "theme" are actually quite thin since a lot of the 1977 era artists are no longer with us. We're just quite fortunate to still have JB producing excellent stuff.
