A Spider-Man who's just. . .   standing there. Where's the CHARACTER?

I'm a sucker for those simple "Handbook" style poses. That's probably the best Spider-Man statue I've seen from a costume and build standpoint.

At least it's not the so-called "superior" version.

So far, this is my favorite Spider-Man statue, also from Bowen. . .

If you can't wait for or afford the Hot Toys version, Toys R Us has a plastic Mattel version of the '66 TV Batmobile for $59.99. It's scaled to fit the 6" Mattel figures.

Picked up two of the latest from Ame-Comi, "Brainiac" and "Mera". Nicely done, but I noticed that the scale is different from their previous figures. Wonder why?

I like the Mera, but the she-Brainiac is uber-creepy. Also, going with the Geoff Johns/Gary Frank re-design is, I feel, an odd choice. The silver-age version with the short pants might have worked better.

Geez, I'm getting nit-picky.

DC Collectibles hasn't officially solicited the release date, but a Bruce Timm Harley Quinn Statue for the Batman: Black and White line!

The back wall and top of my desk in my home office. I like Spider-Man and BTAS. There is a WB Batman maquette over to the left that didn't make it into the pic.

I picked up the 1/12th scale 1966 Batmobile, from Mattel. Nothing works on it (doors don't open, nor does the hood - steering wheel turns but it's not attached to the wheels) but it's a really nice sculpt. And BIG! It's almost 18" long, and very impressive. Hollow plastic, so it weighs almost nothing, which is kind of a surprise, given it's size.

Big nostalgia jag came along with it. I have mentioned many times that my favorite toy as a child was a tin Lincoln Futura, painted black, which I called my "Batmobile". (Imagine my surprise when, a few years later, the real car actually became the Batmobile!) Since I was about 11 when I had this toy, it was quite large, and I was disappointed when, in the process of tracking one down, I learned it was only 11 inches long. This new one, tho, is proportionately about the same size to my adult self that the tin one was to my child self.

Note that the Futura, tho softer in details, is roughly the same size as the 1/18th scale Hot Wheels version.

JB, that's really cool. I'd like one of those myself. Did you get the Batman & Robin figures to go with it?

••

No -- my nostalgia is directed entirely toward the car, not the show!
