Are Tigra's fingers normally that long?  I can't recall.

Tigra is tolerable. Pass on the Reaper. Don't have any interest in the character.

That's a very un-feline pose for Tigra. And she's got man-hands, to boot.

Looks like Tigra has long nails/claws, those may not be all finger.  Her mouth looks like she's burping or is astounded by something.

Suddenly occurs to me that, if I could find a spare right hand, that Reaper might turn into a pretty good Black Fox.

With that mouth, Tigra comes off looking like the sculpt should have been a vampire character -- definitely not a feline-esque pose, IMO.

I think the Tigra is a pretty good sculpt. I like the "vampire" teeth...an artist needs to sell the point that Tigra isn't just another woman in a cat costume. I'm glad it isn't a basic "Stand still while we take your driver's license photo" pose. These folks always put some personality into their sculpts. Tigra needs to be in motion.

My only worry is that the figures that ship won't look nearly as nice as this one-off sample. That's a lot of detail. The sample has precisely-drawn stripes, and the white highlights on the teeth and the ornamental claws are carefully applied. But I wonder if when it comes time to produce these in bulk, the embellishers will be going blort-blort-blort with the brush to make their deadline.

I've had that problem with these figurines. They look awesome in the solicit, but when I see them in the store...whoof, it's kind of a crapshoot.

Are there figure painters who accept "commissions" to upgrade the detailing on these figures?

The Tigra face has a blow-up doll look to it.

Been a loooooong time since I've been to my LCS.  I've been working like a dog, the holidays, and the fact that modern comics just aren't doing it for me any more have all conspired to keep me away.  That said, I finally made the trek today to pick up a rather large pull and five Marvel Figurines!  I got...

  • Baron Zemo - Excellent sculpt.
  • Ikaris - Really nice sculpt as well.  Classic pose.
  • Man-Wolf - A little wonky, but a character I have some fondness for.
  • Doc Sampson - Love it!
  • Union Jack - Great sculpt as well

Four out of five excellent figurines with the exception being one I can look past because of nostalgia.  Now I'm only missing Banshee and Taskmaster.

Looking back a few pages, seems as though I missed the Kingpin as well.  Dagnabit!

I have a big Midtown order sitting on the screen in front of me, five Marvels myself to catch up on.  Banshee, Taskmaster, Kingpin, Zemo and Hobgoblin.  I'll still be behind, I'm waiting a bit on Doc Sampson and Union Jack and not getting the other two on your list, Matt.
