Ooh -- Ryan has rhino-hide on his fingertips! A bit obscure as a superpower, but ya gotta start somewhere!
;-)
Note to JB regarding Sculpy: Places like Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and JoAnn Etc. carry small blocks of Sculpy III in various colors -- the basic white would probably work VERY nicely to re-do Mac's helmet on your Iceman figure -- you might even be able to get away with leaving it as-is if you "feather" it into the existing paint while smoothing it, and if nothing else, at least it would make for an easy base to cover with some basic white paint.
Sculpy III is very similar to Super Sculpy -- lots of sculptors will blend Sculpy III white and black with the "fleshtone" tan Super Sculpy to create larger quantities of gray Sculpy (gray seems to be easier to work with for scratchbuilt sculpts). This was a fairly common practice prior to the introduction of gray Super Sculpy firm on the retail shelves. DO NOT grab the basic white Sculpy, though -- it cures to a less "plasticy" consistency than Sculpy III or Super Sculpy (seems chalky to me in comparison).
Remember that Sculpy smooths and blends nicely if you dip your finger in some water while smoothing. I've also had good luck using plain rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip or a cotton ball to smooth Sculpy prior to baking (works well on larger areas especially, but also works well when smoothing smaller details).
