I have to confess to liking the previous version more. The white-line cross-hatching running through the fold in the cloth looks unnatural and distracts. It doesn't give the impression that what I am looking at is made of cloth. The previous version is more on the mark.

I fear I led you astray.  I have to agree with Matt.

It's usually very hard to "fix" an existing drawing, in my experience.

Steven - No, I also knew there was something 'off' with that last panel. And I very much agree regarding trying to fix an existing drawing - it's almost better just to erase it all and start over.
I also agree with Matt's take on that panel - and just because it's hard for me to let it go, I went back and re-inked the cape parts (including some other stuff like the wood beam lines were too thick and a couple of corrections with shading and line thickness on Wolverine's arms). I pulled some issues where JB inked Doom to get some insight. He's such an underrated inker. Which brings to mind - Has John Byrne inked other pencilers? I don't ever recall seeing it.
Anyway, this will be my very last attempt at this page - otherwise it will drive me bonkers! The good thing is I can take this lesson and apply it to my next inking work.

I think that's the best one!  Everything feels more loose and natural to me.  Few hard shapes.

The whole page is quite well done.

That looks best of the three versions. The capes definitely look better in that one. Fine work, overall!

Thank you, Matt!
This is another page I wanted to revisit so I could work on my feathering technique. I also fixed other issues. I think it's an improvement (I hope) over my first one.

I haven't posted in a bit but I'm always inking. I've been working on a variety of pages by different artists but I always come back to JB's work!

Thanks Fernando!
I always look back on my work and see things that can be corrected or enhanced. I have made some inking adjustments with the previous post that I'm little more happy with.

Just finished this page and wanted to get some feedback on the shading effect.
