Here's another Pop design I completed in time to post yesterday (July 4th and Steve Roger's birthday), but different in that Funko has made various versions of Captain America, but not this one which surprises me with the whole line of Marvel 80th Anniversary figures.  Introducing the original uniform version with the helmet, exposed neck and original shield.

Just completed one more Funko Pop character on my wish list to see and buy some day.  Loved the character when he was first introduced in the Invaders and I was so happy to see John bring him back on his Captain America run!

I realize there must be a reason I'm not aware of, but why were there blue stripes on Cap's original shield?

My guess is that it went with the rest of the costume design and added more by having additional color than just red?

Looks good Sam!

I sure don't envy anyone having to draw that emblem in all sizes and angles tho.

Thanks Doug!  It took me a good number of hours using Photoshop to get this done. A little secret? The chest emblem used on my design above is actually from a page that John drew in Marvel Team-Up #65.

David,

My late little brother was an artist. He was a lurker on this site and he turned me on to it.

I have to say your art reminds me of his stuff and it's beautiful.

Tony Marin - that Superman in John Byrne style is very convincing to the eye.

Very nice!

Just completed another design for one of my "wishlist" characters I would love Funko to make a Pop of...the Wasp in her original costume!  I'm actually surprised they haven't made this yet as part of the Marvel 80th Anniversary line, but also because she is the last of the original Avengers to be made.  I even created an image showing her with the original Ant-Man and with the rest of the original Avengers (though with both her and Ant-Man at smaller sizes) just to show how cool it would be to have a figure of her!
