This commission hurts

I'm working right now on a tribute magazine one shot to Will Eisner, with lots of European and US artists doing a Spirit pin up. I wanted to ask JB for a Spirit commission but could not save enough money for it

This piece kind of make me regret it

My loss

and great drawing

Philippe, maybe you can work something out with Andy, if JB has no objections, and there are no legal problems with the Eisner estate; after all, we're all reasonable, cooperative ladies and gentlemen here on the JBF.

OH, NO!  JB is flying to the Great White North, and I forgot the most suitable Canadian cliche!  "Hey, JB, what time does your plane -- wait for it -- TAKE OFF, EH?"  I thank you...

Michael, that is excactly when came to my mind minutes before you wrote those words : If JB is cool with it, and if Anthony agrees with it, I could print this piece in my soon to be little magazine one shot. Everything is settled with W Eisner Estate (they  gave me every rights to print this (small printing run)

I would, of fourse, send an issue to JB and one to Anthony

What do you say Anthony?

I'm perfectly fine with it as long as you pay me the equivalent of my weight in gold (you're lucky I lost some weight recently but I'm still a big boy)...

No only kidding I'm cool with it as long as JB gives the ok and his approval and you can send me an issue (would love to see it!).

I'm curious though as to who are the other other artists in the issue if you are able to tell me?

I think this is the first time I see Byrne drawing the Spirit. And it looks awesome.

I, for one, would love to hear the phone conversation someday between JB and Frank Miller that would start off with Miller asking, "So John, what did you think of my movie???"

I assume you are coming to Calgary? Can I invite you to an "art event"?

I quit reading the book when Evanier and Aragones stopped, but I 'd be there in an instant if JB got to work on it.
AMAZING commission.
I just hope he doesn't ruin into Logan down there...
