I was happy about the Mignola Batman B&W re-release/repaint.  Like Garrett I felt it would let a lot of people who missed out on the first round pick one up without paying the high price on eBay.

But a lot of collectors complained that it would diminish the value of their original versions.

For the record, I've got the original and will probably pick up the new version as well.

The Mignola style sculpt really doesn't work without the church spire under it. The leg cocked around the spire ends up just looking like Batman is bowlegged!!

"Batman is bowlegged, and Robin is knock-kneed! When they stand next to each other, they spell OX."

This was a big week for me.....two BIG acquisitions! Beta Ray Bill (815 of 1000) and Modok (566 of 650), Bill is my most contemporary character to date from Bowen Designs and Modok is only my third villain, if you count Galactus in that category!

Bandai's inflatable Ultraman Gomora and Eleking Monsters...

Sounds like something Dave Aikins would want to replace Sneedle...

***

Now we need either Norman Berg or Schwartzwald.  Thanks for the heads-up!

(I'm also guessing some wag is going to say "Hey, nice Phoenix Wright action figure!") ;-)

Just "June" from what I've seen. Hobby Link Japan is usually a pretty good bet on price and quick shipping though there are other stores, waiting for a US Toy Store to get her in will probably take another month and probably almost double the price.

I see that Big Bad Toy Store has the figma R. Dorothy available for Pre-Order at $44.99 plus shipping.

HLJ has her offered at a preorder price of 2400 Yen (currently $29.92 USD, but if you pay with PayPal or a credit card, the actual price will be a little higher due to foreign transaction fees).

If you order thru HobbyLink Japan, be aware that SAL (economy-class) shipping can be around $10-15 USD (my figma KOS-MOS and Chogokin HoiHoi-San were 880 Yen, $11, each for shipping) and has taken roughly 20-25 days to arrive in the Seattle-area (books & magazines tend to arrive faster).

EMS (express) shipping is around $40-50 USD and arrives in about 4-5 days.  Annoying, due to Japanese postal regulations, if a package is large or heavy, a selected SAL shipping rate will be overridden and EMS will be applied automatically (how a sale-priced 1/500 Space Battleship Yamato almost cost me double due to the size of the box).  I doubt this will happen with the R. Dorothy, unless the buyer wants EMS or FedEx.

That said, I do have an R. Dorothy on pre-order from HLJ.

Think I'll wait to see if she turns up at MidTown, or even Amazon!
