Bowen's Sunfire Statue!

••

WAAAAAAAY too beefy -- tho I notice the helmet is different from the one I know. Is this some more recent, typically steroidic version of the character?

I wonder if Eternity could work as a concave statue.

The Eaglemoss Sunfire is different as well.  Looks like a fish head.

I wonder if Eternity could work as a concave statue.

••

I've wondered about that, too. Also, I've tried to picture him as some kind of shadow box unit, with the figure a literal cut out. I think the only thing that would even come close -- and would still be wrong -- would be if the figure was transparent with the stars and planets embedded. It would need to be some kind of "black glass" effect, tho, and that would probably make the inclusions hard to see!

I remember realizing years ago that Eternity would work best (outside of a comic page) in a movie or TV show, where advantage could be taken of something that always bugs me when I see it otherwise -- that being the way backgrounds that are matted in outside windows and other such openings often shift (or don't) in unnatural ways when the camera moves. This is something motion tracking and CGI has virtually eliminated, but it would work well for Eternity if the actor playing him wore a blue or green body stocking with a similarly colored cape and collar. This could then be color-keyed out, and Hubble-style images superimposed. The trick would be that when the figure moved, the "universe" would stay still, so the effect would be as if the "camera" was panning side to side when Eternity moved.

Not sure I explained that clearly!!

I getcha JB!  I like your idea!  I think that would work!

It's not like a little star on the side of his nose should always be right there on the side of his nose.

Sounds like the two guys in the last Pixar short that ran in front of Toy Story III.

Side Note: Whenever I find myself looking at a Hubble image, I get a wee bit sad that the Universe doesn't really look like that! All those false-color images NASA has been showing us for the past few decades really give a skewed sense of what it would look like, gazing thru the porthole of some ship cruising thru interstellar space.

Maybe a cutout in front of a slowly spinning cylinder with a continuous cosmic image?  So everytime you look at it it's a little different?

How about a guy in the Infinity outfit made out of invisibility cloak material ( http://3quarksdaily.blogs.com/3quarksdaily/images/image006_3 .gif) in front of a "universe" background.

JB, that Eternity-effect sounds similar to what Gonzo did on their GANKUTSUOU: THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO anime TV series, with regards to the clothes and hair of the characters (only way less headache inducing).

EDIT - Removed video link, since it was a parody dub (serves me right for not checking the audio)
