Hrm. That should be my favorite IM armor. But the neck isn't golden, it should be red.

That's a very foolish thing to do: color a product design illustration with dramatic lighting.
It works because of the great lighting! Looks cool! WOW!!! Well... the statue will never look like that, now will it?
Not smart at all...

And if they DID try to paint all those highlights on him it would look stupid!
I agree, Dave, there's NO POINT in making up such shots, because they neither reflect what the statue WILL look like nor what it COULD look like. It's purely a show of artistic colouring ability, and should be put in a portfolio to try to find work at Marvel or Pixar or something. But it isn't what the statue will look like!

I don't like the flame on each shoulder.... kinda looks like the Creeper's mane. The flames in the hands are cool tho.... I'll wait to see the actual statue, not a CGI rendering.

The statues getting smaller, yet staying the same price or increasing, would give me the "knee jerk" idea that Bowen is trying to save money by using less material. This is probably overly simplistic but...

not overly simplistic at all. Take a look at food products like ice cream these days. Smaller amount, same price. It's been going on for a little while now...

Of course, the difference between ice cream and statues is, you usually want to display the statues with the other ones you've collected. Suddenly making them a different scale...
At the end of the day, these are collectibles and they're pricey ones at that. Upping the price 20-25 bucks to keep them all the same size will be noticeable, but for the people collecting them at the price they are it's not as hard to swallow as "here's the FF with their buddy, Little Person Panther."
Speaking as a collector of sorts (though I've never bought a Bowen yet) I'd think it would get on my nerves more to have a display of Avengers or X-Men with a tiny team-mate than it would be to pay another 10% on the cost to keep it in scale with the team so far.

Suddenly making them a different scale...•• While it is, as my grandmother would have said, "a bit of a niggle" to have the scale different on figures coming from the same source, I'm not sure this is necessarily new. The Sub-Mariner figure I bought from Bowen a few years back is smaller than the standard figures, and on a much more elaborate base. I wondered at the time if that was some kind of reflection of something I noticed in the old Aurora monster models when I was a kid. The bigger and more elaborate the bases, the smaller the figure. Anyway, since I display my statues and minibusts all jumbled together, I guess the difference in scale isn't really much of an issue.

Is there really that much call for more Iron Man stuff? The stores are overflowing with it. I was amazed to see someone post a commissioned movie-version bust on another board a couple months ago. Why spend money on something like that when you can go into Wal-Mart and get your fill of toys, or order a statue online for so much less?
