I did a WTF when I saw that Darth Maul.
Out of curiosity, did a Google search to find out more. Wish I didn't.

So now Darth Maul a cyborg satyr without a penis.
It will be interesting to see how this franchise continues to destroy itself in the years and decades ahead.

That's the beauty of the prequel series. It was so fundamentally screwed up from the start, it really doesn't matter what they do with it at this point.

Photo review of the upcoming Marvel Bishoujo Phoenix from Kotobukiya:
http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_070210a.htm The coloring of the production version appears nicer than that of the prototype photos that were posted earlier this year.

I believe that Darth Maul represents his appearance in a comic that featured a number of stylized "What If?"-type stories.

For those die-hard Yamato / Star Blazers fans, Bandai is releasing a new version of the 2001 "Soul of Chogokin" Space Battleship Yamato as part of the merchandising blitz for this December's live-action movie version: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN961147 The 2001 version was pretty neat (linked at bottom of page), though I feel like I'm "buying the White Album again" with this new-tech version.

Here's some shots of Wave 1 and Wave 2 of the Mattel Retro-Action Heroes:

I have a love of Mego toys that borders on the irrational, but I really think these are worthy additions to the late, great line.

Wow, the villains really outclass the heroes in that set. It's too bad they couldn't come up with a counterpart for the Atom.

I was hoping the second wave would look better in person. Thankfully, they look great! I didn't open the first wave, but your photo's might get me to free those bad-boys. If the third wave is as rumored, with Flash, Captain Cold, Wonder Woman, and Cheetah, I'm going to be very happy...
