 | Thanks, Ryan!  I went to Midtown's site and ordered Dr. Strange...then finally got Iceman, a figurine I was on the fence about owning.  I've passed on him several times, but he falls in the same category as Doc Ock and Cyclops above.   With the figurines that are winging my way from Midtown, as well as from Ryan**, I should finally be all caught up on the ones currently available in the US that I want to own.  The only other one I can think that I need is a Green Hulk.  Hmmmmmmmmmm... **When Ryan read that I was missing some figurines, he was kind enough to offer a stop at the LCS he mentions above, the one that got stuck with a couple boxes of figurines ordered by customers but never bought.  Lo and behold, his LCS had five of the ones I was looking for (Spider-Man, Magneto, Wolverine, Silver Surfer, and Juggernaut), so out of the kindness of his heart, he bought them for me and shipped them off yesterday.  How great is that?  Ryan, a check will be winging your way in a day or so.  Thanks again, bud!!! |

 | Midtown just got my first order.  I added a few back issues to get the free shipping.  I'd rather spend extra money and get something for it than throw it away to someone out to make a buck (the LCS above). For those of you pre-ordering with Midtown, do they hit you with the full shipping charge each time ($9.95 for UPS Ground for me, looks like) one or two are delivered?

I haven't gone the pre-order route yet, so I don't know. Since I visit the site a couple times a week, I just figure I'll see new releases as they become available and order them at that time.  Actually, the first time I paid for shipping was with today's order of Dr. Strange & Iceman.  The other orders I've placed have all been above $75, so free shipping.

I have picked up the Thor, Silver Surfer and Dr. Doom at my LCS.  Others are available there, but I have noticed a lot of them have chipped/sloppy paint jobs. Has that been common ?   Its stopped me from ordering anything, so I can take a look at what I am buying before I throw down my cash.

None of the ones I own have sloppy paint jobs, I'm glad to say, and now over 2/3 of my collection has been obtained via mail order.  Of the few that have arrived with a hand detached, as I described upthread, there has been a little chipping, but not so bad as to be noticed by anyone other than me.  Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've been satisfied so far.

The only paint jobs I've noticed in a bad way were Thor (coloring outside the lines here and there) and Vision (visible brush strokes on the green areas and paint flaked off behind the ankles).  No major complaints beyond those two.  I've painted Citadel/Warhammer type figures for over 20 years, so I'm pretty critical about that kind of stuff too.  I don't feel like I have to repaint any other figures I have.

As near as I can tell, if your total order is over a specified amount, shipping
is free, even if the order is not shipped in one package.

I blame this thread for the fact that I had to go to four comic stores before I found Hawkeye and Bullseye today. (both are REALLY sweet though!)

Punisher and Black Cat also looked good, but I too would have liked Punisher in his original costume. Black Cat was a pass because I'm trying not to get any of the Spiderman related figures. (trying to draw the line somewhere...)

It was Spider-Man vs X-Men for me, I couldn't do both.  Spider-Man characters won out on the strength of Black Cat & Kraven (I love this one), mostly.
