Got 23 of these today. They fit very nicely on the mantle in front of my big
X-men/Imperial Guard commission with room for more. So I'm happy about
that. The only thing is, the last vestiges of the collector in me is nagging at
my mind to get the ones I really didn't like to complete the set...........but
there's just no way in hell I'm buying that version of the Beast.

The collector in me got me to get them warts and all, Wayne.

23, Wayne? So far I have 26. I wonder which ones
you passed on that I picked up. (As noted upthread, I
skipped "The Beast", too.)

Where are you guys getting these from?  My LCS has only gotten three of them that I know of (I bought The Thing), but is there another resource?

Try midtowncomics.com. I got mine three days after placing the order.

Ray pointed out this source on page 10.  JB and Wayne can probably vouch for the service.

Speaking of the Beast --- not one of these figurines,
but this looks pretty cool.

JB,

I did not get Wolverine, Storm, and Mystique because of their costumes.
Magneto was out of stock. I didn't get Gambit because I really dislike the
character and my feelings about the "Beast" have already been expressed.
Also, no interest in the variant Capt. Marvel and I probably won't get the
Punisher when it comes up.

WO

oh, and big props from me too to Midtown Comics.

Seems like a definite bet is being missed with these "Classic" figures not in the classic forms. I'd buy the Beast three times, for instance, if they gave us the school uniform, the Adams years, and the blue seen above. (Heck, they could probably release a grey "variant" and get more bucks out of me.) Ditto for Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel and Iceman, as far as the school uniforms and the "graduation" outfits.

Likewise, tho I bought Nightcrawler and Colossus under the "close enough" rule, I too passed on Storm as too far off and not repaintable. Storm in her original costume I would snap right up.

I agree about the "classics". And looking closer at your pic, it looks like
you've got a couple I don't have yet - Doc's Strange and Octopus,
Juggernaut, Iron Fist, and is that Mephisto? I guess you got these at your
LCS?
