Okay, it’s obviously too obscure—even for our British contingent. Google: Storm he who must be fed

Thanks for that. I needed to know! Pretty wild illustration and concept by Don Lawrence

That last panel on page 7 just blew me away - it has such depth and is so fluid and dynamic - pretty impressive for a 2D piece of art. The ones immediately above it were singularly spectacular as well. Damn, you're good! It's also a pleasure to see Kitty back on these pages - even if it is only her mental self.

I gave Alt-Magneto an almost throwaway line a few issues back, and I've been surprised that no one seems to have picked up on it.Well, now cometh the payoff!

My guess: "We must make our escape ... before we are fully prepared!"

An X-world void of a Magneto? Zounds!
Re: the last panel: I have no idea how it would be inked. A wash, maybe? How did you do that? A most chilling effect.

Whoa! Our Magneto is dead! That's front page news folks. JB killed off Magneto!
...you know the one that Prof X, Henry Pym, Tony Stark, Reed Richards and Victor Von Doom all went to college with!
...and who might have shortly had a sudden and unexpected change of heart (due to Xavier's meddling?) and become the greatest Freedom Fighter the world would ever know.
Well, he's dead folks. He's an ex-mutant.
THIS Magneto is a veritable stranger (and also melting like sugar in a rainstorm). There a finite chance that pretty soon we'll be all out of Magneto! Heroes are defined by their opposites. That makes this an existential crisis for the X-men.
Am I the only one concerned by this?
EDIT: @Brian, I am glad to see you too are alarmed. EDIT: ...but Wallace (below) is just staring at shadows on the ground---Wake Up Wallace! This is an emergency!

The shadows beneath Magneto in that second to last panel... Nice!
Oh, and that last panel feels like Kirby!

JB has already mentioned another villain who could return again and again to present the X-Men with more than enough troubles should this truly be the end of Magneto.
