Though the limbs aren't as elongated, Jahf in that last panel reminds me of JB's Caliban from the trainee X-Men group.

I'm still not fully seeing how they would go to Reed Richards. I think I see your point - our personal experience would lead us to change doctors. But this is such a unique situation that they would defer to the authority on mutants and their negative feelings would be swept aside. It is complex - I don't know what will happen. ••• Some years back a fan suggested a cool idea for two characters battling each other. However, when he showed me his written plot it turned out to be an all too typical fan story, everybody vs everybody else. A lot of fans, given the chance, would write every book as a team up. Spider-Man is fighting Doc Ock? Well, let’s call in Iron Man and the Torch and Thor..... Thing is, while such stories are fun occasionally—just did one—we have to remember these titles function best when treated as independent entities. Batman becomes a lot less interesting if he’s constantly calling Superman. Is it more “logical” for the characters to interact? More “realistic”? Sure. But after a while, it becomes something else: dull.

And Reed has a REALLY high deductible for office visits, y'know. So does Dr. Strange. That Medicare gets EVERYONE.
I don't know what it is about today's page... it's Mr. Byrne's standard genius, getting better with every page... but it caught me and just fascinated me. I just stopped and looked it over for a few minutes, just because it stirred me so.
I cannot judge the value that we have of these pages, these stories... but to me, they are a daily delight, and a tremendous gift. Thank you yet again, Mr. Byrne - these are GENIUS.

More Jean (yeah)! I like how (to me at least) it's as if her eyes (and her) are somehow getting smaller in the knowledge of the enormity of what's she's seeing.
The upper right two panels are especially striking. At the risk of a bad pun (and being careful what I wish for) its nice to see a *little* fire in those eyes again...

What's incredible to me is that even though Jean is confidently coming to the rescue here, something about the way JB has drawn her (maybe her stance) still feels like she has the emotions and mental capacity (mutant powers notwithstanding) of a child.

I absolutely agree that a comicbook "universe" while
broadly shared should be issue by issues mostly mutually
exclusive. Each character or team should be allowed every
chance possible to have their own adventures. There's no
fun unless there's risk involved. In the Lizard's debut,
all that stood between this villain calling out a legion
of herpetological critters and (er) swamping America was
our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Accepting that
"risk" -- if Spider-Man failing, doom! -- is fundamental
to comicbooks. The hero must do or die. Even though we
know he won't die. Doesn't matter. Accept this and enjoy
the story! (If you have to force yourself to accept it,
if it's not a matter of unthinking acceptance, like,
e.g., not questioning how Elmer Fudd never blinks at
hunting a talking rabbit, then go find another hobby.)
