As I remember it, during the period this tale would take place, even most of the fellow Avengers didn't know each otherot secret identities.

Here's where the fun is!
Thanks for another day. I have a long, abiding thing for your Wolverine and the way he's appropriately frustrated and held to the margins here is a damn treat.
'Nuff said! Carry on!

Hadn't looked in a couple of days, so a great couple of pages to read through today. Iron Man looking better than ever. And an amusing little moment with the Grey's giving away Wolverine.

I love Wolverine in this series. He's not the perfect, stealthy ninja of the modern era. He's tough but mortal, an extremely competent tracker, sometimes a complete ass, and occasionally unlucky. He's a Marvel super hero with feet of clay, not an indestructible Looney Tune character.

A small question: How does Iron Man know Jean Grey's relationship with the X-Men? Perhaps something that I don't remember or a X-Men "Hidden" story!

We're talking one of the original X-Men and Dark Phoenix here – not hard to assume the Avengers got a briefing! Especially if we're in a Gyrich era of the Avengers, a character shown here to be highly versed in dangerous mutants.

Phoenix didn't wear a mask! I absolutely buy into the conceit that heroes were able to keep their secret identity from each other with just a mask, but it seems to me the Avengers would ID a maskless Phoenix as Jean Grey. I'm pretty sure even Jarvis knows this one!

This is a blast to read! I had a chuckle at Iron Man's blasting into the house with the homeowner exclaiming, "Our insurance won't cover this!"
To which I immediately wondered "What about Acts of God?"
... but then scanned the roster that showed up, and can't see Thor anywhere.

Kevin C: Or Dark Phoenix?
In actuality... how many Avengers had secret identities? Iron Man, surely. Ms. Marvel. Thor. Hawkeye, I guess, but he never seemed to do much as Clint Barton. T'challa DID have one (Luke Charles), but that didn't last too long.
It occurs to me that the secret identity bit was much stronger in the DC universe than the Marvel universe... although I suppose that Professor Xavier kept the X-Men secret so that if they chose to enter the mundane life, they could keep their identities (e.g., Iceman.)

************************ Yes, it seems from that issue because of Lilandra and specially Wolvie with Fang's costume!
