Now that's a John Byrne Splash Page™ if ever I've seen one! I love this series. It really has reignited my love of comics!

Superbly detailed splash page, expertly foreboding 'narration' and an amazing page two! Mind you, you must be fed up of Barry Windsor-Smith defacing all your hard work with his initials... ;-)

For those who care about such things, here's the DAN DARE reference Bill correctly identified:This is the best image I could find online (and that banner across the bottom added itself when I took the screenshot). The satellite is SPA-1, which stands for Space Platform Astronomy One. Art by Frank Bellamy.

Once again, I was wrong. I thought for sure that it would be Gladiator hurdling towards Earth that would cause the destruction of the Astronomy One.

I can't remember when I found a villain so despicable...
By the way, so much is happening in these pages since Elsewhen #1!
Nowadays in a X-Men comics, it would take 30 issues and at least a relaunch.

Man. You're really on a mission with Magneto. Not that this is a bad thing.
