Just so no one gets their hopes too high, only Wonder Man will be added to the group seen on today's page. I'd thought about the Wasp, but in all the action that lies ahead, I realized she might simply get lost!!

There's a lot of Bad Stuff going down even in this altered timeline.
I can assure you that when I read this first, I didn't understand what you meant. And then I remembered Elsewehen is an altered timeline...

"Unless, in this timeline, some of the X-Men went with him to Washington."

Ah. Cyclops wasn't available the first time around, and it's very easy to assume that he would offer to accompany them with no other details given!

Just a question: Mystique's New Brotherhood is the same we saw in Uncanny X-Men 141?•• Is it. . . ? --- Hmmm...there's a certain Brotherhood member that I'd love to see!

This is a fun journey. Trying not to look ahead and second-guess what is coming up; just enjoying where the story takes me.
Really fun page with Cap, Beast and the rest. Perfectly encapsulates that true Marvel vibe, the fun of guest stars popping in and out of books.

One thing I'm really intrigued about how brazen Shaw is being, here. I'm used to seeing him working strictly under the radar, now he goes from openly targeting the X-Men to snagging an Avenger*?? He must be mighty confident in his plan to be so ballsy!
*And then there's the implications for Gyrich....

Wow, mind blown indeed!! It's horrible to think of Shaw, a mutant himself, manipulating mutant-hating forces for his own ends.
I did notice a couple issues ago, when Wolverine and Nightcrawler casually mentioned having just returned from Canada, that the events of X-Men #139 - 140 must have happened off-panel. I figured that any well-known stories we remember from the "main" timeline that were not explicitly shown in Elsewhen will have happened more or less the way we remember them. Sounds like there could be some important differences from the original DoFP that we'll find out about as we go along, though.

This storyline is progressing quite nicely, JB - and the artwork consistently blows me away! Great seeing the Avengers getting involved... and Cap never looked better!
Looking forward to Mystique's New Brotherhood!

Speaking of the new Brotherhood, was it you or Chris who came up with the Nightcrawler connection for Mytique?
And in this roll out of events, was Nightcrawler available for the battle in DC or was he already captured by the Sentinels?
