i don't disagree.

i'd rather be obnoxious than knowingly make lose money due to a glitch.

> Fred, its and glitch... confirmed.

> and suprise, suprise,,, it's diamond's fault.

> Instead of just reading the parts of my posts you want to attack, did you care to read

> 1) the link where it is announced as a glitch

> 2) my post about emailing Amazon before buying

Neither of those points had been made when I was typing up my response, though neither point countradicts my observation, which weren't attacks.

> None of my posts involved mind reading... some opinions, sure. but not mind reading.

Stating with any certainty what someone is going to do or what is going on before it is announced or committed is mindreading.

James, I don't buy your holier than thou act in the least.

Here is your quote, "I will still think that anyone who can't afford a full priced book shouldn't be buying a discounted one." If this were honest you would never shop at Amazon in the first place. In case you are not aware, they discount everything.

James is this how you interact with people face to face or just hidden behind your keyboard?

1. Clicked on the link in the first post, ordered some books.

2. Read through the rest of this thread, canceled my order.

3. James, you may be correct (and I did cancel my order), but man are you coming across as smarmy and self-righteous.

James, your "ethical" attitude seems flawed. You tout your ability to do the right thing and belittle those who don't.  You seem as though you feel better about yourself at the expense of others, yet you do this by putting down those who may be benefitting at the expense of others.  I suggest rethinking your ethical standpoint.  I also suggest learning a thing or two about ethics before implying someone else does not have any.

Still, end of the day, it isn't a big deal. A mistake was made, and just as you said, Amazon doesn't have to honor it. Nobody is going to get fired over this. Business doesn't work that way for something that honestly isn't a big deal except for movies and television where it is dramatically necessary.

And, economically speaking, your article you posted is accurate. Comics are too expensive. If a better price could be found, a lot more people would buy them.

James is absolutely right, I should never have used hyperbole.

I wonder if James is so self-righteous when shopping at brick and mortar stores and they have a lower price on the shelf for the item he wants, but it turns out to be incorrect?

"Hey, that bread was listed as $1.65 not $1.99! Oh, it was an error? Okay, I'll pay the difference!"

Sure James, sure.

plenty of times brad.

a dvd at target is accidentally put in the $9.00 rack.

you get to the register and it rings for $13.50.

the choice is to pay $13.50 or put it back. I don't throw a temper tantrum demanding a difference.

maybe I should explain my contempt.  i saw this on the message boards at bleedingcool.com where everyone KNEW it was an error, that "someone" would pay the difference (diamond or amazon), and wanted to order books to put on ebay.

i am not opposed to buying something on sale or at a discount. but when they clearly have the msrp wrong, I will look twice.

I am not opposed to getting a deal, PAUL. A discount is a discount.

This was a clear error.

I also buy things off ebay, Paul... buying something used/second hand is perfectly fine.

Buying something that was stolen is not okay.

Just another example (not whats happening here). You can try to SPIN it that because of my comments, I should never get a discount.

That is stupid. A sale is a sale. Buying used is common.

Manipulating an error or handling stolen merchandise would both be unethical.

"Someone" pays the difference...
