Subplot in issue #17?! Very cool news.
Regarding; "Which she may or may not call herself", just not Anti-Phoenix, Phoenix Hunter, etc. =) On a more serious note, I cannot begin to imagine what would be different and appropriate, but I'm excited to find out.
To be honest, this point in Elsewhen is what I have been waiting for in the last year and a half. Knowing the direction of Elsewhen from the start, we have all been just sitting back to see how the story unfolds. Now that the dust is settling I am eager for the stories that come after this point. We are now in an area where there are no previous issues of the Uncanny X-Men that we juggle in our minds like Death of Phoenix or DoFP. From here on out it is new stories without wondering how to forget previous history with the X-Men. Love it!

I’m curious how you see Beast, furry vs. non furry and if you’d bring him back into the X-Men permanently?

Hank would, unfortunately, be redundant in the “new” team.

With respect to today's page and everything upcoming JB has alluded to here:
Wow!
(Still picking my jaw up off the floor on seeing that What If cover. Had not been aware it existed. Would love to hear the story behind that.)

Why the "snowy" Iceman and original headdress Scarlet Witch alone are worth the price of admission!

Today's page is just beautiful! I'm particularly fond of Kitty in panel one and Jean in panel 2. Love that Kitty really comes through as a teenage Jewish girl without even a whiff of becoming a caricature and, for some reason, the shadow up her sleeve really helps to make her feel "real" to me. And then we get to Jean's eyes in the next panel! JB has moved well into George Perez level on faces and, frankly, maybe beyond.

No question I LOVE having Kitty and Logan disappointed by having the 'real Jean' back. They knew a different person altogether and seeing others happy to have 'real Jean' would hit them hard. I expect Storm and Colossus also would be hit hard by that but just the couple of sentences so far (yeah, yeah, I know, be patient) to indicate it. This could be something that tears apart a group - some excited to have someone 'back' while the others are missing the one who is gone. Especially with it being the same person in many respects. Should go back to my old X-Factor issues and see how if at all that was followed up on in the comics back then - don't recall it being addressed much beyond a throw away line here and there.

Thinking back to FF 286 and those early X-Factor issues, the Jean that came back was TK only, which is to say, she had no telepathy. I'm sure we will find out in due course, but is it the same thing here?
She mentioned sensing Namor's approach in the cocoon, but I'm not sure whether that is a clear indication of her telepathy being extant.

Old timers will recall that Jean was “TK only” in the beginning. Her telepathy was explained as being shared with Xavier while he was pretending to be dead. A retcon, of course. I find her telepathy a lot like Superman’s heat vision. I planned to ignore it, but it proved too handy.

This brought a teary-eyed, jaw-dropping smile to my face!!!!
Now, more importantly, can we as a country survive to see this story through.............
PS - Sorry for putting a downer thing like politics into this.....
