Read thru the Arcade two-parter (and the preceding issue) last night and
noticed a couple of things I’d never seen before. First, Arcade’s cuff links
are pinball machines. What a perfect detail. Second, and I’ll preface this
with the info that as I go thru each issue, I’m counting how many pages
Terry didn’t use zipatone, so I’m really inspecting each panel with much
more scrutiny than ever before. Which brings me to the scene with Storm
peeking out of the door from her shower. Terry did use zip on Ororo’s
figure, but still quite visible is her right nipple. I’m reading these via the
Omnibus volume so I don’t know if it’s noticible thru the newsprint that it
was first available on, but I certainly never picked up on it that before. Looks
like one got past the Code, for sure.

As first published there was nothing to get past the Code.

I drew Storm nekkid as a gag, and Terry laid on the zip to disguise this, assuring all who were concerned that the crappy printing we had back then would close up the screen.

Neither he, nor any of the rest of us, could guess that decades later the page would be given much better printing!

Mostly good. Oddly, since I decided to go ahead with the cataract surgery, the slow degeneration in my eyes seems to have accelerated. Especially the left, which is the one that’s getting done first.

Ah, science!

My mom had cataract surgery in her 80s. Not only was the physical recovery fast, but her eyesight was normal as soon as the guard was removed! Hoping your experience is much the same, JB.

For some reason I had to go back and pore over that last page again. That castle is drawn so beautifully.

We did it! We made it to the end of March! Now we just have to be patient once more through April.
