Dave was the kind of guy whose personality really filled a room. He was someone who could get away with big yellow leather buccaneer boots.

"festooning him with straps and pouches and flanges."

When I saw all those Batman pouches on Scott, with that non-sensical over the shoulder belt, I was done. Never liked the open-top head gear either.

Even though he's really talented, I never warmed to Jim Lee because of those gratuitous sensibilities in that regard. Gambit's outfit, ugh!

Love that Dave Cockrum wore those boots and put them onto a character in the comics.  Did you ever put anything onto a character that you loved to wear Mr. Byrne?  Safe to say you put stuff onto the women you loved to see on real women, but just curious what made it onto the printed page.  Fun stuff we only used to once in a blue moon see on a letters page or in an interview.

In DAYS OF FUTURE PAST I gave old Logan a leather jacket I actually owned and wore. I was much amused to see it, decades later, reproduced on action figures! :-)

You wouldn’t happen to remember what became of that leather jacket,
would you?

Ditto on Gambit's outfit.  Way too busy, way too contrived.

Double-ditto on all of those pouches and straps on 90s Cyclops.
I'd wager that he never had an on-screen scene where he so much as pulled a quarter out of one, much less anything actually useful in a battle.

But when compared to the recent "Gala" schtick, I guess I should've learned to temper my expectations when the gettin' was good.

I wonder. I don’t remember getting rid of it.

I bet, with it being the basis for Logan's jacket, it would go for a pretty penny to some fan if you ever located it and wanted to sell it!

Yeah, that is one iconic jacket!

Loving the last few pages. Will any of these storylines tie up soon I wonder?
