Second that- this is shaping up as X-Men vs Doom, which is a nice switch up from the usual. (Hey, maybe the FF will be kept busy fighting Magneto...) ;)
The main reason I grumbled when Dave gave Scott those buccaneer boots. Dave himself actually wore such boots, but I thought they were too flamboyant for Scott."Nothing fussy" is a good description of his fashion sense!
I'm enjoying the guest appearances from the FF and Spider-Man…

I think I've mentioned before that one of the things I most enjoy about this "format" is being able to grab any "guest stars" I want, any time.
Not having to jump thru hoops with other editorial offices is a delight. After all, in Marvel's New York the heroes (and villains) would be constantly crossing paths!

I always considered Scott wound up a little too tight. I figured that the dynamic with Jean is that she brought him out of his shell when he wasn't being fearless field leader where he seemed to feel most at home.
I’d thought it most appropriate, when the team switched to their “graduation uniforms”, that Cyclops stuck with something very close to his school uniform, minus only the yellow chest/back panel. Seemed very like him.
Later generations would get further and further from the logic of Scott’s outfit—as they did with costumes in general—festooning him with straps and pouches and flanges.
