Don't worry, David! I can't imagine where I'll ever use the McLaren--unless I show Warren out for a drive, maybe!Out in the entrance hallway to my studio I have a couple of wall-filling glass dispaly cases, that have my REAL car models, 1/24th scale and up. Most of those are vintage, tho, so also not likely to appear!

ME!!!!!I was doing everything I could to reassemble the original team. ........ This is explains why Claremont dumped him from the roster soon after you left the book... and the reason given in the storyline made no sense. I always loved this character, but mostly the way you drew him. My iconic version of Angel is your interpretation of him from those issues. So the splash page yesterday made my morning.

Angel was always considered to be a tough cookie. Back when the Professor first promoted Cyclops to the position of team leader, Cyke was a bit reluctant to accept the role because he thought Hank was more scholarly, and Warren was "more aggressive." Back in his early days as the Avenging Angel, aggression was his style. And throughout most of the X-Men's early exploits you'd find Angel talking a fair amount of 'schmack' and always seeming to be ready to throw down. "Do unto others, but do it first."
His aggression and *toughness* was also on full display when he beat the crud out of the Dazzler (his uncle) in XHY #15.
Unfortunately, he can only reach a top speed of about 150 mph, and the OHOTMU (1st version, 1982) says that he hitched a ride on a jetliner during that transatlantic flight. He does, however, have hollow bones and is "virtually devoid of fat, possessing greater muscle mass than human." Tough cookie indeed.

Contrary to its intended purpose, OHOTMU is pretty much useless as anything but a visual reference. Far too much fanthink. “If we don’t find an answer we’ll make one up!”And WAY too much EXPLAINING. Superhero comics are much like jokes. If you have to explain them, they don’t work! (Yes, I know I have scurried down that rabbit hole a few times!)

The XO tin is actually OXO, a British beef drink, and that container has been in my family for about 75 years. Inside is a piece of shrapnel from a German bomb, picked up by Dad's Dad in the back garden!-------------------------------------- British beef drink? Yikes! I think it's so cool that you have that piece of family history (right near where you work no less).

British beef drink. Cubes about the size of sugar cubes, but brown. Dropped into hot water. Quite yum!

You might be amazed to hear that it is not the only British beef drink. There is also Bovril.
(And nowadays Oxo is more associated with gravy).
Kind of curious to find in N America there is a utensil company called Oxo with a really similar logo that is not related to the British meat stock company.

OXO = strong beef flavoured gravy.
Do you not have gravy in the USA?
Man, you don't know what you are missing
Another make is Bisto. Also very yum
