Roger Stern used to joke (?) that if he has Superman's powers the first thing he'd do is go on global television, and make a speech that would begin "As your King. . . "No question that a world in which some people had super powers would be very different from the one we live in. And probably not better. ————————————————————————————————- I like the quote someone made about how, if people started becoming superheroes we all hope we’d see Spider-Man but we’d actually get the Punisher.

Hey, was that sound effect in the last panel yesterday? If so, I totally missed it!

Eep! Kitty! That was a cool panel where she pulled the Professor through the wall. I wonder if he's ever been phased before? I can't recall seeing it. |

Although a telekinetic probably shouldn't need to do anything physical to use her powers, Dark Phoenix looks as if she is indeed reacting physically to a non-physical action. SO pretty.•• And "pretty" is the key. I've mentioned before that telekinetics should no more need to make dramatic gestures when using their powers than we mere mortals need to when drinking from a bottle of soda or opening a door. But that would make for some pretty dull images. Could be done on film, when all kinds of stuff could be swirling about. Would even play to greater drama if the telekinetic is able to unleash his/her power without physical effort. But on the printed page, that would translate to the individual just standing there.

Whoa! Like drinking from a fire hose all of a sudden!
Stepping way back --- the Photoshop effect looks like the whole sky is on fire. It's cool, but your Krackle is PEERLESS.
BTW, the figures in the fore-ground of that panel are equally impressive.
(I just plain love your art.)

Great to see pages again (stupid storm), and great to see a whole range of drawing/writing talents coming out in these pages. (Big fight with Phoenix and Storm then smaller more emotive moments with Kitty and the Professor in the safe room). Welcome back, JB.
