The pencils are so tight in Issue 2, I can't imagine them inked now.

Per Spinner Rack (on twitter), Uncanny X-Men #138 was published 39 years ago today:

While I have fond memories of reading thru Uncanny X-Men #138, I'm thoroughly enjoying this current storyline.... looking forward to seeing Wolverine get his turn at that Sentinel!

I got that one off the spinner rack! I'm grateful to have caught JB's run in real time, even if it was just the last few issues. I hunted those back issues down and got enough to cement JB's X-Men as an instant favorite. I think it makes this return a really significant moment for me.
Thanks for sharing this with your fellow fans, JB!!

Thanks again for the share.
So these sentinels are more dangerous than they seemed to be...

What's going on with Wolverine rebounding??
Like the shadow under Storm in that first panel, which really sells her floating above the ground.

Like the shadow under Storm in that first panel, which really sells her floating above the ground. •• Ah ha! Me being sneaky! I copied the figure of Storm, duplicated it, and filled it in with black cloned from elsewhere on the page. Instant perfect shadow! (I've mentioned before that I have long envied Wally Wood's ability to cast what seemed to be exactly the shadows the objects themselves would have.)

BTW, the X-Flyer on today's page is not traced from a model. I had one, but it was tossed along with the mansion, the stratojet and the Sentinel ship. So this is me doing it the old fashioned way.
