I'd like a bigger chest emblem.
Does the belt look a little low? Or is it possibly my brain or the angle of the photo playing tricks on me?
I can't tell much from the photo, but it doesn't look bad.

The "S" on the belt is really not necessary.
And why o why didn't they just keep the Christopher Reeve outfit? Not that the one above looks bad, but the other one was just perfect....

Not bad, but why is it that no one looks right except Christopher Reeve? I would like to see an action pose to see how the costume looks in motion.

His hair looks Brown, not Black . . someone needs to retouch it with BLUE highlights or something . . . don't like having the "S" on the beltbuckle either . . lil' skinny for the role -- could have been alot worse, but yeah -- we've already seen alot better.

If that's a reaction to Singer directing this film, it's so far past the line that you can't even see the line. In other words, it's way out of line.

And in case the link goes dead, here's the source:

And a much larger version where you can see the costume's texture and such:

I've got some gripes...the 3-D (and slightly too small) "S" shield, the fact that the cape doesn't really top the shoulders, the boots seeming a touch too short, but overall...
Not bad. They kept the core iconography, and in this day and age that's an accomplishment. I'll need to see some action shots and some acting shots to see whether Routh carries it, because honestly, the actor more than anything else will determine if the look "works."

There's something not right about the shorts or the wasteline. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe the smaller emblem is what makes it look strange. Either the shorts are too low, or too small, or it's just the distance from the emblem. This bugs me.

Because then Louise Mingenbach wouldn't have gotten a job reworking
such an iconic outfit for the 21st century. Truth be told, I'm not even
sure if it's possible not to redo costumes with every Hollywood product.
There may be guild rules about it to keep the paychecks flowing.
If you read the article, Singer claims this is a "faithful" redesign. I
hate to say it but this design clearly dates the film. The extra
long trunk (or whatever it's called) is a dead give-away to a
contemporary fashion trend. I've only seen George Reeves' costume
in person and that was a few years ago, before it was auctioned off. It
was a wonder to see even given its close to 50 yrs in age.
I can't say I get "that feeling" from the photo in USAToday. ( EDIT: Stop
the presses, I've seen the hi-res version of the entire costume and I'm
at a loss for words. And no, I'm not searching for complimentary words to describe the changes either. )
And
just what in the HELL is it with Hollywood and latex? 89-90's
Batman, Batman Returns and now the even Superman shield? And it seems
Superman likes crocodile leather. Do my eyes play tricks on me?
I can just imagine their new Wonder Woman in a latex thong and pasties. Or maybe Red-White-and-Burka.

What color is the cape? It looks like it is dark red or maroon.
