Back in the day, when I was working at Marvel, some project came along that they wanted me to do. In an interview, Jemas and Quesada said they would get me on board by "backing a Brinks truck up to [my] door".Reading that was the exact moment I decided I wanted nothing to do with the project.

Peter M.: "Don't cross the streams!! It would be bad."
Um, define "bad."

Mr. Byrne, they talk about backing up a Brinks Truck to your door... maybe if it were filled with nonjudgmental Byrne fans? Shucks, I think I'm DRIVING that truck!
Your posts here are a delight. It is such pleasure to see your X-Men again. I am ready for you to start drawing comics again; my wallet is twitching. In the meantime, I enjoy your speculations and observations, and even an occasional direct reply or two. I believe I'm far from the only one. Whatever your upcoming projects, I can barely wait. I hope that's the sort of treasure you're looking for in that Brinks Truck.

I'm increasingly convinced that if this became a real series a reprinting of the "Untold Tale" of Phoenix as Issue 0 might be a good idea. New cover, of course.--------------------------------------------
I've always wished I could've seen 138 with your original splash page and panels combined with the rest of the flashback issue (instead of the funeral scenes......again, as a result of the original panels and splash being printed in "The Art of John Byrne"....such a tease to my young, "way things should've been" mindset)

Flipping thru the ESSENTIAL volume covering this vintage, I seem to have located the first reference to the StratoJet as the "Blackbird". It's in my last issue, our "salute" to ALIEN. Anyone care to ammend that?

Okay, so a pilot calls it a "Blackbird" even tho it doesn't really look like one, and a caption identifies it as a "modified SR-71 Blackbird" even tho it clearly isn't.My head hurts.
