I will snag the Blackest Night figures because I have all the others, ditto the Batgirl from Cover Girls of the DCU. Big maybe on the Flash and Green Lantern statues - I've already got Sandman and Death on order for the previous month, it's gonna be a pricy final quarter leading into Christmas if I order any more.

Batgirl looks nice but why have her doing something ditzy?  'Oh silly me, I could be a better super hero if only I wasn't a girl...'

Four more recent acquisitions.  The first three were bought on eBay.  Cap is the new Bowen bust that arrived at my LCS last week.

I just picked up that Cap bust this weekend as well.  I already have the similar statue, but I have to admit that the star on his chest and the "A" on his mask are done better on the bust.

That Hulk doesn't work for me on a whole bunch of levels. It's missing almost completely the "Frankenstein monster" look of the vintage it seems to be going for.

That Hulk is an admirable effort.

But the only part that looks like that Kirby is the nose and maybe the philtrum (upper lip area). The head is too rounded, the brow is too small, the ears are too wide, the jaw is much too small. And there's just a lack of that lost expression in Kirby's Hulk, achieved in the miss-matched eyes and that massive open-mouthed underbite, the look that renders him both terrifying and sympathetic simultaneously (just like, as JB said, Frankenstein's monster).

Really highlights how brilliant Kirby could be in just two panels!

Technically, THREE!

This is my single favorite page from any issue of the Hulk's various appearances, and one of my top favorite Kirby pages just in general.

Wish I could have scooped up the original on that one before prices went astronomical!

Looks like they crossed a Kirby Hulk with Michael Morbius.  Only thing missing are fangs.
