About an hour ago, I ordered Wolverine and Green Hulk from Midtown, which were out of stock when I first started collecting, so yes, they do get replenished sometimes.

Thanks Ryan!  That is what I was hoping to hear.  I will just have to check back often with Midtown as my LCS is not having much luck filling my "older" list.

I do not yet want to go the ebay route, as the shipping charges are almost as expensive as the figurine itself!  Best...

I keep looking at Wolverine and thinking Too tough to customize, too
tough to customize…
but eventually I expect I'll crack.

At this point, I have no illusions that I'll get around to customizing Wolverine this decade.

Stupid Question Time:  I noticed the Beast Figurine on this week's Diamond Release list.  Is this a re-release and if it is do they re-release figures often?

I see MidTownComics has Hercules and the Leader listed for pre-order.

So that's ONE for me, anyway.

VERY nice custom!

For those who are interested in customizing, Silly Putty works great as a masking material -- conforms to curves WAY better than any tape you'll find, sticks well but peels off without removing paint, it's dirt-cheap, and it's easy to find (you can even make your own if you feel exceptionally motivated).  The only thing you have to be careful with is using lacquer paints -- it will melt Silly Putty.  Makes custom paint jobs MUCH easier -- just mask off the parts you DON'T want to paint with Silly Putty, paint, then peel off the putty after the paint has dried. Straight lines no longer require a steady hand -- slap some putty on, use an X-acto knife to cut it back, leaving a straight line, paint, let dry, then peel and you've got nice, straight lines.

:-)

Okay, I started down this road with the rest of you, but I just can't.  Too many figures to just pick a few, but also too little room in my house. They are very cool, but I think I'm going to have to stick with the mini-busts and what not I have already collected. That being said, the four I did buy I'm going to put in the Buy/Sell thread if anyone is interested.

Finally saw some of these in a LCS. Blade, White Queen, Dr. Doom, Invisible Woman and Cyclops. Only the last three interest me.

Dare I take that fateful step?
