You and me both! It'd be a thrill for him too, no doubt!

Again struck by the Byrne and Davis influences in these
pages...

...maybe just a little Dale Keown in there, too?

I checked out some of Pelletier's pages at Baltimore. Beautiful stuff. It's a shame I stopped following Hulk books well before his run...

The Pak/Pelletier run is a bright patch in the past 20 years.

I've decided to be patriotic this year and started to collect art from Filipino artist.

First is a from a 1949 comic serial Hagibis Sa Ibang Daigdig (Hagibis In Another Planet) by Francisco V. Coching, known as "The Dean of Philippine Comics."

Second is a 1979 page from "Ang Panday" (The Blacksmith) by Steve Gan, better known internationally as the co-creator of Starlord of Guardians of the Galaxy.  Ang Panday spawned 6 movies and 2 tv series starting 1981.  This is from his 4th appearance and acquired directly from the artist who was kind enough to put a nice dedication.

Ok, here is the story about how I got my first piece of
original art. The weekend after the flooding in South
Louisiana, a convention was held in which the comic book
talent consisted of only two artists.

One of my good friend Roland Paris who has been an inker
for both Crossgen and Marvel. The other was George Perez. I
could go because I was throwing my life to the road.
So, I told Roland to pass a word of thanks to George ft or
all the years of entertainment and great work, and that I
wish I could be there.

This was George 's thank you back.

One of the few times I've gotten to smile in the last
month. Thank you Mr. Perez.

Also, thanks to Roland Paris who,I'm sure had a hand in
this happening and for holding onto the piece till I get a
home again.

Wanted to post some recent purchases (though not all of them at once!).

I decided to start looking into getting some of JB's art from his FF run last month, and immediately ran into two issues - there doesn't appear to be very much of it for sale, and what is available is expensive! After a little research, it became clear that I wasn't going to be able to get a page from FF #243 (unless Tim Townsend magically decides to break up his amazing collection, and I don't see that happening any time soon) - so I "settled" on this page instead. Incredibly happy with the purchase!

That purchase then led to THIS purchase:

I really wanted a page from FF #250, and was fortunate enough that Mike / Romitaman had it available. There's a good chance that I'll be able to get another FF #250 page in the near future, which I'm excited about. Spider-Man with the underarm webbing and Steve Rogers on a lunch date, what's not to love?
