The beauty and dynamics of his work are incredible, but
it is the manner in which he is able to portray emotional
moments that puts Paul Pelletier is at the top of my list
as far as working artists! The pages below beautifully
display Bruce's dreams, the fact that (Even in a dream
and unscarred) Victor Von Doom is a jerk and the end of
Bruce's fantasy with the awakening of Skarr.

Also was fortunate to be able to pick up 4 additional
pages from my favorite Hulk issue in the past 20 years.
Incredible Hulk #611 is known as "the return of the
monster" and features an epic battle between the Hulk
and, his son, Skarr. The reason that it resonates with me
so much is because of the many emotionally driven scenes
taking places outside of the battle. Grabbed up most of
those pathos-filled pages, when the book first came out.
I have slowly begun to pick up the others in the time
since.

Your Bats-on-Gargoyle commissions are really impressive, Aric.  That Jeff Dekal painting in your CAF is mighty impressive!

Not exactly new art, but fairly recent . . .  a Kev Walker Magic the Gathering wraparound cover from one of the books.

Kev's a genius with a paintbrush, the work being flawless in execution.

Unfortunately, the small-scale image doesn't really do the work justice . . .

Recreations aren't everyone's cup of tea. Never used to be mine until I discovered Bruce McCorkindale's work in this area of collecting.

Over the past year I've been commissioning Bruce to recreate some of my favourite silver age Marvel covers. As I think it's doubtful that much of the early cover work still exists, I like to think that this idea has some merit (even if not a lot for most OA collectors). They're relatively inexpensive to buy, so why not.

When I was listing cover commission ideas with Bruce I requested the ASM # 2 as one of my choices. Unfortunately, Bruce had already recreated the Vulture cover before and doesn't really want to be doing the same thing too many times.

As an alternative idea, I always liked the 2nd story splash page from that particular issue featuring The Terrible Tinkerer. I requested a splash-to-cover commission as a replacement to the denied Vulture. Earlier this year Bruce had performed a similar thing for me, transforming the splash page from ASM # 4 into a cover image. That worked beautifully, I think, so I was confident that Bruce would do another great job with my ASM # 2 idea.

Here's the end-result . . .

I really love those Pelletier pages, Fred! He's been a favorite for a long, long time for sure.

Terry, that Ditko splash has long been one of my favorite Spider-Man shots.  What great fluidity and movement Ditko got into that figure.

George had a lot of fun incorporating a gargoyle in these Batman versus series. On this next one, Batman faces (pun intended) Two Face. Yes, Batman is on the gargoyle....but for how long??
