He is busy sketching all weekend. He suggested at one point as an aside, but I wouldn't overstep that line

I had a very busy week end at F.A.C.T.S. in Belgium. I got to meet the great and ever so nice George Perez. Twice :-)

Lee Bermejo wasn't comfortable with drawing Phoenix or Dr Doom (although I think he would have done great with the character), so I asked him for a Catwoman.

I recently became aware (or possibly reminded of) of a 7 page back-up story in Action Comics Weekly #641, featuring the Phantom Stranger. While the story is good, it was Jose's artwork that really made it stand out for me. The emotional resonance that is always present in his art is especially alive in this story, revolving around a little boy who has become tired of being pushed around and strikes back..... if not a bit forcefully! This page exemplifies the pathos and solid storytelling skills of "the master".

Fred, those pages are so obviously nice that it feels almost superfluous to say so, but--nice pick ups. I especially like the shot of the Stranger, upper right, in the first page. And all the faces are individualized, and expressive, as are the figure postures. Gosh, he's good.

J.G. Jones has produced some amazing art over the course of his career. Images of his work are mind-blowing in their beauty, detail and emotional impact. Seeing his original pieces up close.... even more so. Making a decision to purchase something from him was an easy one. Choosing a single piece from his portfolios....... not so much. This is page 5 from Strange Fruit #1.
