Beautiful Enchantress by McLeod, Dave ! And Ted, your JB pages are fantastic !

I picked up this commission of Amphibian from Gary Frank at F.A.C.T.S. in Belgium... Always loved the Supreme Power series !

The date on EVS sketch makes as much sense as the story you
reference ultimately did. Great pick-ups Ted! As always, great seeing
you!

I highly recommend a visit if you can!

I keep seeing mentions of this event here and there over time. Does somebody has a link or more information about it?
That seems interesting. Thanks in advance!

Had a great weekend in Baltimore with friends, including
forum members Dave Phelps, Brian Peck, Ted Pugliese,
Roger Ash and Jim Warden. There were a few suspects
noticeably missing.

The show also allowed me to pick up some great pieces.

First up is the addition to the Thing Jam. I have lost
most of my motivation to continue and finish these
pieces, due to the work involved in putting them
together. That said... the more that I looked at the
strength of the Thing set-up by Paul Pelletier and Joe
Prado, the more that this felt like it should be a team
piece and not Ben surrounded by villains. Stephane Roux
agreed to draw Susan in Boston last month and Tom Raney
added Reed in Baltimore over the weekend. I am psyched
and now the piece is powerful and awaiting the arrival of
Johnny to round it out

The jams in my collection feature a favorite character
surrounded by villains. Since Jonah is his own worst
enemy.... well, you can see the direct we are going. Luke
Ross drew the primary figure and Jack Herbert added to it
last year. Tony Moore and Eduardo Risso added brilliance to
the piece last month in Boston. Jeremy Bastian seemed the
perfect choice to add to it in Baltimore this past weekend,
since his style has such a historical vibe to it. I'm
loving how this piece is evolving.

This piece has a great scene, featuring classic Jim Gordon
and the men in blue going up against some baddies. I was
surprised that it sat in Jose's portfolio for 3 shows.
Seeing it still there yesterday in Baltimore, proved too
much to resist.

I didn't own a page from Jose's Tarzan books previous to
this (#252, page 1). While this page doesn't feature the
title character, I am floored as I look at the mastery of
Jose's anatomy of both human and animal. A very powerful,
opening page! Rudy Florese's inks certainly tweak the final
results a bit.

From the previous page, the Ordway commission, Zahler and McLeod pieces are standouts to me.  Very nice.

Also, who knew the Ghostbusters had such a fine eye for comic art?

Ted, I enjoy seeing the little doodles and signatures in your books, thanks for sharing!  I'm still holding out hopes of meeting Walt Simonson some day.

I hope that someday I can make it to Baltimore so that in subsequent years I too could be missed at the show.  I plan to retire in 2044...too early to book a room for the con?

Fred,

How have you not gotten Jose to participate in your Jonah Hex jam?

The Tarzan and Batman pages are both great!  Nice pick ups!

Paul, here's a link to the official site.  They don't seem to do much to publicize themselves really.
