My first original animation cel:
A Nazgul from Ralph Bakshi's LORD OF THE RINGS! This movie was huge to me when I was a kid. A very special piece in my collection.

That's a great cell, Joe.I've only seen the movie recently so it does not mean to me what it means to some of you given the comments, but that's a cool one to have.
Michael: Nice page! I have not read that series yet but it makes me want to!
Daniel: great commissions. No wonder you keep staring at them. ;)
Thanks everybody for sharing.

Not comic book art but Byrne related. This is a painting by Gary Cody who has worked with JB in the past on Next Men, Babe and Danger Unlimited. The previous owner mentioned Gary and John Byrne had done a project together and Jim wound up with some of Gary’s paintings and it was purchased thru Jim Warden. No idea if it has been published or what it was used for. Haven't been able to find a contact for Gary to get more info. With a little research I found it features the Formula 1 Williams-Honda #5 driven by Nigel Mansell from 1986 (the paint scheme with the sponsors helped narrow it down) . The year he narrowly lost out to Alain Prost in the final race of the season. Yes I am a F1 fan and did watch Mansell, Prost and Senna back in the day.

I don't throw around the term 'grail' very often, but if there's been one for me for the past fifteen years or so, it's been to own a Nocturnals piece of any kind by Dan Brereton himself. Finally this year he offered a kickstarter with a commission price that was something I could convince myself I could afford so I jumped at the chance. This piece is everything I would have wanted. I love the Halloween Girl character and this sums her up so well. It's always Halloween when I look at this one!
