DOOM PATROL #17, page 4 by Byrne/Hazelwood

Much like I'm a sucker for any Byrne page featuring Metron, the same holds true for JB's Negative Man!  I think his black skeleton version of the character is just an amazing visual!  Glad to have a page with The Chief and Grunt as well!

Hazelwood did a very good job inking JB's pencils.

Larry Stucker did an even better job on the DC Comics Presents: Hawkman special that JB drew.

Agreed about Hazelwood being one of the good ones.  Here's the pencils for comparison:

Love that Doom Patrol page. Severely underrated series by JB.

Great catches Joe !
That was a fun run to read by JB.
I happened upon many issues from the original run back in my younger days ,that was fun too.
Some people think that DC copied The Chief from Prof X, when actually The Doom Patrol appeared a few months before the X-Men first appeared.
Another interesting note, both groups had Brotherhood of Evil (Mutants) villain teams that first appeared in March 1964 issues.
