I came across and won this piece on eBay last month. It arrived from Brazil last week and I recently got a chance to scan and add it to my Comic Art Fans page.

Joe drew this pose a number of times -- but I think this is a really nice/appealing example.
It was drawn on a VERY thick board... not sure why, but that surprised me.
Here's another image -- both taken from the Heritage Auction...

I have one of those Shuster pieces, courtesy of Jim Warden. A nice connection to history.Meanwhile, the DAN DARE pages arrived, and gave me a brief moment of vertigo. I'd forgotten that the listing also included the front page from the issue of EAGLE featuring the art, autographed by Hampson. When I opened the package, that was on top, in a plastic sleeve like the art. Thing was, it had seen better days, very roughed up and smudged. For one horrible moment I thought it was the art!
