I just wanted to post how grateful I am that I was able to get a commission from my favorite artist, the reason I read comics and the legendary and iconic figure that Mr John Byrne Is in my mind. You're my Elvis, my Jack Kirby and certainly one of the person who was one of the biggest influence in my hobby life. I bought thousands of comics because of you. Thanks for taking time to draw my Wolverine, it's a treasure for me. I love it. Thanks for being so gifted and so fast. Thanks for mailing it possible for me to get a piece of a childhood dream...

That's fantastic, Jerome - I would be equally excited to get a Wolverine commission from JB, the artist who I feel handled the character best.
JB posts most of the commissions here on the Forum. You can check the recent threads or upcoming threads for your commission.

Mike Grell was in Birmingham today at local comic shop. Scored my first sketch request, a StarSlayer headshot and a poster of one of his best Warlord promotional pieces. Heck of a nice guy! I showed him some pieces I'd done in my teens sort of aping his style and he said he would have put me to work if he known me then. That meant the world to me!

A fun cover mockup:
Standard Comics Team-Up #193 (May 1979) "Vox Incubus"
After kidnapping one of the world's leading virologists and sapping his mind of its knowledge, Dreadhelm threatened to loose a plague upon Australia after they rejected his "offer" to annex their nation. "I will send my plague upon your heart, and upon your people; that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth!" ~~
Dave Bednarski comes through again on this nifty issue of the SCU's team-up book.

I want to thank Jim Warden for being a gracious host yesterday, giving me the "tour" and letting me peruse his inventory. Walked away with two pieces. A surprise Generations 3 page (don't remember seeing it on the DOA site) and the awesome "Intellectual Discourse" Hulk vs. Thing commission.

I was able to get a pass for SDCC through a friend at WB TV. I ended up buying some new art.
