This isn't comic art but related since the concept artist for John
Carpenters The Thing was Mile Ploog who drew Ghost Rider and
Werewolf By Night for Marvel in the 70s.
Mike Ploog drew the original concept art for John Carpenter's The
Thing. The Thing could mimic any living being it came in contact with
from man to dog. This specific design was never used but was
certainly inspired many of the final ones which appeared in the movie.
John Carpenter's The Thing is one of my favorite films, I remember
seeing it in the theatre. I had been looking for a nice example by Mike
for along time.
